What defines this style
- Typography
- A display face true to the chosen decade (puffy, neon, pixel), with a plain readable text face.
- Colour
- The decade's palette: orange, brown and mustard for the 70s; pink, purple and cyan for the 80s; Windows grey and blue for the 90s.
- Layout
- Parallel colour stripes, a half-sun, windows with title bars, period stickers and icons.
- Shapes
- Medium or pixel corners, double outlines, solid coloured shadows.
- Imagery
- Warm saturated or duotone photos, old cars and gadgets.
- Motion
- Lively: running stripes, flickering neon, a pixel cursor.
- Details
- Stars and sparkles, a perspective grid, old 3D buttons, cassette tapes.
- Avoid
- Mixing several decades in one design, neutral modern type, dullness.
